These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Settle: Baby Names app and website (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.
1. Who we are
The Service is provided by Dave App Development Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, trading as “Settle” (“Settle”, “we”, “us”). You can reach us at alex@settledevelopment.com.
2. The Service
Settle helps you and a partner discover and agree on baby names by swiping through names, matching on shared favourites, and using tools to help you decide. Name information (meanings, origins, popularity) is provided for general interest and may not be complete or accurate for every name or region.
3. Eligibility & your account
- You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country, to use the Service.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure.
- Some features let you link with a partner and share a name list between you.
4. Premium, payment & merchants of record
Settle offers a free tier and an optional paid Premium upgrade. Premium is a one-time purchase that grants 12 months of access, does not auto-renew, and covers both partners in a couple. Pricing is described on our Pricing page.
Depending on where you buy, your purchase is sold and processed by a different merchant of record, and that provider’s terms also apply to the transaction:
- Web (settledevelopment.com): sold by Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd) as our authorised reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle handles billing, sales tax/VAT, and refunds. Paddle’s Buyer Terms apply.
- Android (Google Play): sold by Google under the Google Play Terms of Service.
- iOS (App Store — coming soon): sold by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms.

5. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service — including not attempting to break, overload, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to it, and not using it to store or share unlawful content. Any names or content you add must not infringe others’ rights.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, its content and branding are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose. Content you add remains yours; you grant us a licence to store and display it so the Service can function.
7. Privacy
Our handling of your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. You can request deletion of your account at any time via our account deletion page.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. Name suggestions and information are for guidance only — choosing a name is your decision. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
10. Changes
We may update the Service or these Terms. If we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page; continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
